3rd newsletter – Participants – EN – foreign groupsIn this newsletter:
Which countries will be coming to Flamboree?A lot, no doubt. But how many different nationalities will attend? Let’s list the countries that will be represented coming summer:
As you see, world’s ready to welcome you. Of course, no doubt other countries will lengthen this list during the last weeks to come. ![]() Wanted: hosts for the HoHo project (Home Hospitality)We’d like to provide you with a brief overview of HoHo, Home Hospitality. Over 23 foreign request for joining have been registered. A large number indeed. As you notice, a lot of people like sharing this international experience. For the moment, we’ve been able to match about 10 participants to a host, being a host group or individual hosts. Which is brilliant. Alas, we had to disappoint about 13 people, since the number of requests largely exceeded the offered capacity. We want to invite all of these groups to join us in our search for alternatives. E.g. you could stay at a youth hostel and go exploring Belgium yourself. Any questions regarding HoHo? One single address: hoho@flamboree.be ![]() Highlighted workgroup: Food & Trading!Dear Flamboreans, We’re very busy at the moment, making sure the meals on Flamboree will be delicious. We ensure you food will be varied and of course, sufficient to everyone’s needs. At the very moment, all menus have been written out. We’re consulting different companies and stores to be able to compare prices. We make sure food will be tasty, but this also depends on you. Even if we provide you with the most delicious food we can find, it will be you preparing it. Our workgroup will take care you clearly know how to do it. We fully trust you to be able to do so. And even if not, your leaders are always there to give you a hand… See you on Flamboree, after an appetizing meal. Tom – Food Responsible on Flamboree ![]() Do you have all of your equipment? The information package contained a group equipment list, we’d like you to do as much as possible to bring these items yourselves. In case of major problems, you can always contact participants@flamboree.be. They’ll help you in finding a solution. Foreign groups able to bring an additional set of equipment should mention this to us as well. Doing so, they might be able to help other groups who have less transport possibilities. Distribution of the provided equipment will be governed by the buddy system. All equipment will be checked together and a warranty will be paid. ![]() Possibly additional offer to leadersFor the moment, we’re still looking for additional service to keep everything running and to ensure a once in a lifetime experience on Flamboree. Some groups have a large leader team. If on Flamboree, we would run out of service to lead the activities, we expect these groups to do an additional effort in helping us. You could see it as an extra challenge, a new experience: leading an activity, seeing Flamboree from another point of view. Of course, we don’t want to take you away from your group during the whole of Flamboree, these are emergency conditions. Nevertheless we’d like to inform you it could happen. Do not hesitate to have a look in your vicinity if someone would like to join the service crew!!! If so, please contact service@flamboree.be ![]() Reminder: medical report, travel form, market day,…Dear leaders, Normally, you’ve been receiving an information package recently, if no postal problems have risen. The package contained a brochure with all practical information concerning Flamboree itself, as well as a list of matters that should be dealt with in advance. The brochure mentioned some forms that should be send back within a few days. We’d like to stress this information is extremely important to us, and therefore ask you to send it as soon as possible. For completeness, it concerns the following:
![]() Small townFlips challenges you to make the whole world shine in one town! This is your ultimate chance to share your uniqueness with everybody. Feel like sharing a traditional dish with an international jury or to play a part in an African play? If the answer to these questions is yes, then this challenge surely is something for you and your group! Together with you, Flips will create a unique town within scouts’ dimensions. We expect every group to come promote a specialty from their country or region. This can be something edible, but can also be a traditional dance, traditional music or even a typical game. During this activity, everyone will get the chance to taste things coming from other countries, experience new cultures, play games and listen to stories. We would like to hear about your crazy ideas on village@flamboree.be Do not forget to mention your group and Flamboree-ID. If you have any questions you can always send us an email. Any questions left or didn’t you get an information package? You can always contact us at info@flamboree.be The information package and attachments can also be found on the website, www.flamboree.be ![]() NSO confirmation requestWe would like to remind you that all Flamboree participants must be part of a group of scouts or guides which is member of an association recognized by WOSM or WAGGGS. A model of a Confirmation Request can be found here. ![]() Evening activitiesOur Program team offers you a range of activities during daytime. But at night it is still not finished. Some days there is a nice program for evening activity like a movie, Boombal or a campfire or even a sing song. The other evenings will be filled with activities your sub-camp, time to get to know your neighbors a little better. What can you expect? One of the activities will be a game to search for men / women with talent who will represent your subcamp during the mass game. Therefore, there will be a mega evening an Olympic-ladder-game played. The fight for this title has begun, who will represent your sub-camp? One of the other evening activities is the creactivity-night. Would you like to create the mascot of our subcamp, or make your own neckerchief slide and much more? Then you should certainly come and take a look.
